Kick-off meeting in Brussels

Last 13-14 November, Brussels hosted the kick off meeting of a new European research project, Integrated catalytic recycling of plastic residues into added-value chemicals (iCAREPLAST) project, set to address the cost and energy-efficient recycling of a large fraction of today’s non-recyclable plastics and composites from urban waste.

iCAREPLAST project has been funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme within the SPIRE (Sustainable Process Industry through Resource and Energy Efficiency) initiative. The project coordinator is Mr. José M. Serra, Research Professor at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (Universitat Politècnica de València – Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas). The project brings together 10 leading European research/academic institutions and industries from 5 different countries. iCAREPLAST has a duration of 48 months (15 October 2018 – 14 October 2022) and a total EC funding of 6.51 Million Euros.
